Why Did I Move to Dubai?

I intend to elaborate on these points further at a later date, but I decided to make this move for a few reasons which I’ve summarised below. How many would you agree with?

Safety – Dubai has one of the lowest crime rates in the world and 98.5% of women say they feel safe walking alone at night (according to a 2021 survey).

Earning potential – Although my job as a Real Estate Broker does not have a base salary, my commission is uncapped. Combine that with the lack of income tax, road tax, council tax, inheritance tax, capital gains tax etc, etc, I have the possibility to take home more money than I ever could have imagined back in the UK.

Weather – On average, Dubai sees 3.7 inches of rain per year, which usually occurs in the form of brief showers, spread across 25 days a year. That means 340 days of glorious sunshine!

Lifestyle – tied into the point above (weather) I’ve always dreamed of weekends that consisted of walks on the beach or a leisurely lunch in an outdoor café. There’s fantastic bars, restaurants, shows, sporting events, festivals, exhibitions, boat parties, museums…. What’s not to love?!

Location – Every time I’ve considered moving away from the UK before, Australia was my first choice. Then I always decided against it because it is soooo far away. Dubai on the other hand, is a short (in comparison) 7 hour direct flight from home. It’s also in prime position for travelling more throughout the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe, which I can’t wait to do!

Cleanliness – The streets, the parks, the beaches, you name it…. spotless!
